Fatorda is a suburb of the city of Margao in Salcete taluka, south goa, Goa. Fatorda consists of large number of Scheduled Caste population. A number of villa and apartment building projects are coming up in fatorda. Fatorda has a few government and private schools and colleges namely, Our Lady Of Rosary High School, the Don Bosco College of Engineerring, The Parvatibai Chowgule College, Adarsh Institute of Management, and the Jawaharlal Nehru Higher Secondary School. Other facilities like bars and multi cuisine restaurants are also there.Due to traffic congestion in the Margao city, the main bus stand serving South Goa is also shifted to Fatorda and South Goa District Collectorate office is also located in Fatorda.
Goa's main stadium named after Jawaharlal Nehru, built in the late 1980s, offers you multi-purpose sport facility, having a seating capacity of 20,000, is mainly used for football and cricket matches. But it is widely used for the Indian national football league games. Ravindra Bhavan, a cultural centre which promotes Tiatr, drama, art and culture is also located in fatorda.
