Navelim is a village in Salcete, Goa. It is located near the city of Margao, and south of the capital Panjim. Like most of the villages in Salcete it is also dominated by Christians. Navelim is one of the largest villages in Goa. Aquem, Belem, Colmoroda, Danddo, Dongorim, Firgulem, Fradilem, Mandopa, Modi, Ratvaddo, Rawanfond, Sinquetim, Sirvodem, Telaulim etc are some of the names of wards in Navelim. Navelim is rapidly expanding to become one of Margao's fastest growing suburban areas.
In navelim there stands a Portuguese-style church namely Navelim church "Our Lady of Rosary" which was first built by the Jesuits in the 1590s, which was later financed and rebuilt by a local merchant named "Barreto". The people of navelim celebrate the feast of Our Lady of Rosary on every third Wednesday in the month of november followed by a "fair" which comprises of stalls selling toys, food and clothing, and booths for games as well as a Fun Fair with merry-go-rounds and Ferris wheels as well as other enjoyable rides.
